According to The National Institute for Mental Health, “Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is [a condition] marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development.”

Autism
According to The National Institute for Mental Health, “Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) [commonly referred to simply as Autism] is a neurological and developmental disorder that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave.” The characterization and treatment autism has be evolving particulalry over the last few years with the prevalence of communities sharing lived experiences online. It’s important to remember that Autism is a spectrum with a wide array of traits and presentations: If you’ve met one Autistic person, you’ve met ONE Autistic person.

AuDHD/AuDHDer is a descriptor used within the Neurodivergent community to describe people who have both Autism and ADHD.
